Hell

I am almost speechless of what to say because of what I read on one of my friends profile from myspace. It simply said, "I hope they serve beer in hell" That may not strike you as disturbing but it breaks my heart because why would someone tamper with wanting to go to hell. He was simply saying he believed in hell, but why in any ones right mind would want to live there? Here are some basic points I was given in class on hell from Dr. Forshee.

1. Hell is an actual place
2. Hell is an awful place
3. Hell is an always place
4. Hell is an avoidable place

This has made me want to do research on hell. I believe in it and know its a place you are separated from God for eternity but I want to get more details. Even though those two factors are enough for me to want to stay away.
Let our hearts join together today and pray for the lost who want to have nothing to do with living for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Crazy night with Rent-A-Frog

I had a serving job last night in Dallas. I did not know much about the event until I arrived with my great pal Kara Jones. The party was held at the same residence as Dr. Phil....should I say more. :) They were throwing a party for their boss who had just moved into this place. They had a psychic reader and a butt sketcher...yes a butt sketcher. He draws the back side of you. Yep..thats my butt. Ha!

It was actually pretty cool. Overall, the best part of the evening was my 5 witnessing opportunities. I also prayed with two women in the midst of the craziness of drinking, butt sketches, and psychic reading. It's great working a job like this because it gets me out in the world and away from the comfort zone of Seminary. They already asked for us to come back for their Halloween party. That should be fun. But, its great knowing seeds have been planted and I will get to encounter another time with them. We worked hard last night and earned us $115 toward tips. I guess dancing with the boss may have helped..she was quite funny. That was my crazy night!

How innocent are we?

I want to challenge myself and anyone who reads this. I have been reading through Acts and I keep going over and over Acts 20. There are few verses that keep piercing me, but verse 26 is what really gets me,

Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of everyone's blood...then Paul goes on to say in verse 27....for I did not shrink back from declaring to you the whole plan of God.

How many times have we felt The Spirit leading us to go talk with a person and ignore it? I know I am guilty of this WAY to many times. I will strive each day to make Christs name known. Dr. Foshee said in his Contemporary Evangelism class, "faithfulness to share is our measure of success. God holds us accountable for obedience not perfection." We are not going to have success every time, we are going to be rejected, but atleast we know we are innocent of that persons blood. May I never hold back the whole plan of God.

The Lost Ark

Last night my husband and I watched Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. It made me realize how so many people including myself let the Truth get burried down and when we have the urge to go after it we suddenly are surrounded by vinemous snakes. (If you watch the movie you'll understand my analogy) So many people are searching for something significant for their own glory. "the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God" (2 Cor. 4:4) This is why we as believers need to shine so much more brightly so unbelievers are blinded by our light.

Be encouraged today by knowing if you feel distant from the Word of God or time with the Lord we don't have to literally dig and then fight through slithery snakes to get to Him. Refresh yourself with a hot cup of tea or coffee (whichever you prefer) and sit in the peace of the Lord.

Shine like the glorious sun!
